Jaisalmer’s Takhat Singh Receives Padam Ratan Samman; Later Honoured with Honorary Doctorate by WEBBIC University
Recognised for dedicated social service through two distinct honours
New Delhi:
Takhat Singh from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, was conferred with the prestigious Padam Ratan Samman for his notable contribution to social service and community welfare. The award was presented at a felicitation ceremony held in New Delhi, recognising individuals who have created meaningful impact through consistent grassroots work.
The Padam Ratan Samman was presented by R. D. Meena (Retd. IAS) in the presence of eminent dignitaries. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Anurag Saxena, President of the Journalist Council of India; Ishmeet Kaur, Mrs India World Celebrity Stylist; Means Malhotra, hotelier, influencer and blogger; Anu Shamihoke, entrepreneur and fashion event curator; Dr. Mahesh Gaur, International Mental Coach Trainer; and Dr. Pankaj Khatwani, Operations Head (India) of the King’s Book of World Records.
In a separate recognition ceremony, Takhat Singh was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate by WEBBIC University, Ghana, for his contribution to social service. This honorary recognition is a non-academic honour conferred on the basis of professional and social achievements and is not to be used as an educational qualification.
The Honorary Doctorate ceremony was attended by distinguished guests and representatives associated with the university. Members of AASI — Abdulkarim Abbas Gora, Umar Mohammed Usman, and Mr. Craig (Karachi) — were present for the Honorary Doctorate conferral ceremony, as representatives of AASI, since the Chancellor Dr. Felix Ofosu Djan could not attend the event in person.
The organisers clarified that both recognitions are private honours and are not affiliated with any government awards or Padma Awards of the Government of India. The ceremonies concluded with felicitation, media interactions, and appreciation for Takhat Singh’s continued commitment to social welfare initiatives in the Jaisalmer region.
